LATEST WORK - FROM THE WESTWARD CUP 2010 |
| |
´Mariquita Running up the Solent´ Watercolour 22 x 30 inches
The inaugural Westward Cup for the Big Class classics took place 5-10 July. I was out throughout sketching these beautiful boats as they raced in varied conditions off the Isle of Wight.
This is the first finished watercolour showing 19-Metre ´Mariquita´ in full kite run, powerful as a charging elephant, nimble as a gazelle. To windward ´Mariette´ can be seen with ´Eleonora´ in the distance. |

2 JUNE 2010 - SKETCHING DAY AT STOWE |
| |
Stowe was the magnificent venue for my most recent sketching course, held as part of the World Monuments Fund Study Day series this summer.
The course included sketching technique, demonstration and instruction on how to depict Stowe´s architecture, both grand and intimate.
As a passionate believer in the conservation of our architectural heritage, I was delighted to take part.

14-16 MAY 2010 - ROYAL YACHT SQUADRON PAINTING WEEKEND, Cowes |
| |
A new venture was launched at the Royal Yacht Squadron in May, with great success. The Squadron held an exciting exhibition of marine art and members spent the weekend learning sketching techniques, and receiving lectures and demonstrations from a number of marine artists, of which I was honoured to be one.
My passion for getting right into the action when sketching the magnificent classic yachts has led me invent a ‘drawing machine’ - built of carbon fibre, containing 10 metres of sketching paper. Here I am explaining the challenges of ‘extreme sketching’ and giving the members a flavour of how exciting sketching the classic yachts can be.
